One thing I’ve been trying to do more of, in terms of Buttertart Books, is figure out where we’re going after we launch Bear Hockey. I’ve already figured out book #2 (The Animal Hotel – look for it next year!), and I’ve got a surprisingly long list planned out for the next SIX years! We’ve got so much great stuff in the works, and I can’t wait to share it all with the world!

We’ve got lots going on over here at Buttertart Books Headquarters! Our artist, Maurizio Curto, is finishing up the illustrations for Bear Hockey (stay tuned for some sneak peeks), and I (Jess) am looking into getting the launch (in February) all set up. There are so many moving parts to consider, but I’ve got a ginormous list of things to do…and as long as I’ve got a list, we’re good to go!
We’re looking so forward to finishing Bear Hockey, getting it printed and finally making it available for the world to own and love!

We’re less than a week away from the Kickstarter campaign! Here’s a little sneak peek of some of the art our talented illustrator, Maurizio Curto, is working on.
It’s September 21 already…where has this month gone?! The good news is that we’re that much closer to our Kickstarter campaign starting. On October 1, you’ll be able to visit Bear Hockey on Kickstarter and order your very own copy of the story! There will be lots of great backing options, and we know you’ll find something you love. We’re going to have more art sneak-peeks in the ten days to come, but for now…check out our newly designed squirrel sportscaster!

Hello and welcome to Buttertart Books! We are a brand new Canadian publishing company that creates and publishes fun, engaging and imaginative books for children.
Our first picture book is called “Bear Hockey” and it will be the star of a Kickstarter campaign in October, 2016. Written by Jessica Boyd and illustrated by Maurizio Curto, this delightful tale of a rag-tag bunch of bears playing hockey right before hibernation is sure to please sleepy sports fans as they get ready for bed.
We will update this page as the Kickstarter campaign grows nearer. We will let our fans know all about the rewards and our goals. . . and we’ll even give a few sneak peeks of the book itself (and introduce a couple of bears along the way)! So come back and visit often!
